On Thursday, May 19th the grade 5, 6 and 7 classes did a cultural performance at Neill Elementary School. The students worked very hard with their practice and discipline and the performance went very well. Thank you to Trevor Little and Lena Ross, as well as the other teachers and aids that made this performance possible!

For the past 10 weeks, the students at Haahuupayak have participated in the D.A.R.E. program. The students learned about many useful things like citizenship, government, drug safety, gang violence and many others. On Thursday, May 5th students organized a ceremony to celebrate what they have learned. Thank you Constable Batt, Corporal Cousson, and Ms.Serena for organizing and promoting this very important event. The students are very proud of their culture and what they have learned and will carry this knowledge with them for years to come.
On Thursday, April 28th 2016 Haahuupayak School participated in the annual jump rope for heart challenge! Students and staff raised money to help support the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The afternoon was full of activities and games and the students had a great time. Thank you to Ms.Leslie and the other staff for organizing this successful event!
On Thursday April 14th Cirqueworks came to Haahuupayak for a fun filled day of juggling, balancing, tricks and other cool events. Thanks Eric the Juggler and staff for putting on a great afternoon for our students!
Thank you to all that attended our recognition assembly this Wednesday, March 16th. Our students have worked hard this month in their classrooms, with sports, as well as with reading. They have truly shown us what it means to be a great member of our school and of our community. Congratulations Neve Watts for receiving the isaak award this month! Great work students of Haahuupayak!
This workshop is held at ADSS on APRIL 5TH and 6TH. Parents are welcome to attend. There will be keynote speakers Mr.Gary Anaka will be speaking to parents about “the teenage brain” and Mr. Jesse Miller will be speaking to parents about “on-line citizenship”. There will be refreshments and some great door prizes. This is a great evening and will be beneficial for parents and guardians of teens and youth to attend. For the week of February 1st-4th, the students had pancake breakfasts delivered to their classes. Thank you to Janice Simister, Darrell Markishtum, Gio Mussato, Lena Ross, Angela Brown and Kaitlyn Matthews for organizing this. The students enjoyed their pancakes and we look forward to doing this again next year!
